Windows 10 v1703 has added many new features to the Edge browser. And one of them was the sharing option (16), which is well integrated with other applications. Although you can easily share URLs by copying and pasting them from the address bar, a real share button next to the address bar is a more convenient way to share links.
In the last update, you may have noticed a share icon next to the address bar in the upper right area. This share button facilitates the process of sharing a URL with someone or other applications installed on your computer.
You can argue that you need an external share button if you can simply copy and paste URLs. For all touchscreen devices with Windows 10, this unlock button is a function. Users can share URLs across multiple applications with a single click. And it also saves time.
How to share a URL on the Edge
- Open the’Edge‘ from the Start
- Navigate to the website you want to share.
- Click the’Share’ button in the upper right corner.
- Now select the corresponding application in the share area and you are done.
The panel contains all installed applications that support URL sharing.
The most remarkable option is the Cortana Reminders option. You can directly add a link to Cortana reminders and specify the reminder text, location, time and other relevant details. This feature is useful if you are working on a project and want to be reminded of an article or information you just found on the Internet.
You can also add event links to Cortana Reminders to be informed of upcoming events and their details. To use the features of Cortana and other applications, you must log in with your Microsoft account.
Other common sharing options include Facebook, Twitter, Mail, OneNote, Messenger, etc. All other options work well and you can even search for other applications that support link sharing. All you have to do is press the’Get apps in store’ option and you will be directed to the Windows store.
The sharing option not only facilitates link sharing in other applications, but also eliminates the need for traditional copy and paste. So it was the sharing function in the Edge browser. With the Creators update, Edge has improved a lot and got many new and exciting features. Now Edge is a fully functional Windows 10 application.
