Copying content from an oversized folder to low-capacity devices (CD or USB) can slow down your computer. Moreover, the procedure is quite tedious. Folder Axe is a simple and easy to use program that helps to divide these large files into small files. The program moves files, instead of copying them, very comfortably into a new folder structure.
The free program is compatible with all versions of the Windows operating system. To split a desired folder into smaller folders, simply select the distribution method from the available tabs and select the appropriate options from the tab.
For example, you can split a folder in two ways :
- By Amount Tab-This tab divides a folder by the number of files. Simply specify the number of files required per folder and click the’Share’ button to split the existing folder into smaller folders.
- By Size Tab– Divides the existing folder into several smaller files, depending on the specified size (KB, MB or GB). Remember not to enter a folder size smaller than the maximum size of the individual file. The program prompts you to enter the desired minimum size.
Other program features are :
- Split by file type
- Split by file group
- Split by date
- Include subfolders
- Automatic update check, so you always have the latest version !
Folder Axe is an incredibly fast application and only takes one or two seconds to load. In addition, the file size is less than 1 MB, so it is quite light.
