3] Update or reinstall the device driver
If you see this error message when you check the keyboard or mouse, you can either update your existing driver, or uninstall and reinstall it, and then check whether the device is working or not. You can open Device Manager > right click the driver > Update driver or select Uninstall device. Then follow the options on the screen to move things forward. When you have uninstalled the driver, restart your computer, connect the device and select Check for hardware changes. You get this option under Device Manager > Action.
