Troubleshooting activation problems with Windows 10 helps you solve your activation problems

Some Windows 10 users have problems trying to activate their operating system copy. And this problem was not only limited to those who upgraded from Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 to Windows 10, but also to those who might have performed a clean installation. Windows Activation Troubleshooting helps you resolve common activation problems on real Windows devices, including those caused by hardware changes.

If you cannot activate Windows 10, open Settings > Update and Security and click the Activation link in the left pane. Then click on the link Troubleshoot.


Troubleshooting for Windows activation opens and attempts to resolve problems.

The troubleshooting is complete; if it finds no problem, it will inform you.

If you have changed your hardware, you can click the I have hardware button on this device recently for more suggestions.

If your device has a digital license or digital privilege for Windows 10 Pro from a previously installed and activated version of Windows 10, but you accidentally reinstalled Windows 10 Home on such device, the troubleshooter will automatically guide you through the upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and activate Windows.

This troubleshooting will be available in Windows 10 Anniversary Update and later versions and can be used to resolve activation issues.
