Microsoft Windows Server 8 code name comes in Windows Server 2012 form in four versions, ranging from small businesses to high-end cloud data centers. Companies that rely on Windows Server now have a better choice of options, as all four editions offer a unique combination of benefits in their own region. The Home Server edition has been discontinued.

Foundation Edition: Best suited for small organizations, possibly a 10-15 user organization with a processor server. However, this edition is for general use and does not offer virtualization.

Standard Edition : For non-virtualized or slightly virtualized environments, this edition does not limit the number of users. It also offers two virtual instances.
