There may be a time when one of your device/PC is offline. Please log in with the last password used when you start your Windows 10 or Windows 8 computer and try logging in. If you are faced with this problem, this contribution can help you solve the problem.

This problem can typically occur if you connect to your Windows PC 10 / 8.1 with a Microsoft account and reset the online password on your Microsoft, Outlook or Hotmail account but forget to make the change on your PC. You can also receive this message if you have accidentally entered the wrong password in the field.

This may still occur after installing Windows 10 updates.

Here are some things you can try to recover your Windows PC. See which scenario applies to you.

1] If your device is configured to automatically connect to Wi-Fi, make sure it is properly connected to the Internet or network and restart it.

2] The bottom right of the screen displays network icons that allow you to connect to the Internet. Click the WiFi/Broadband icon and a window opens from the right as follows:

Connect your computer to the Internet and enter your Microsoft Account password.

3] Check that your password is correct and enter it carefully.

4] Make sure your caps lock is not enabled.

5] Our author Arun Kumar adds – you can try it. Restart your PC. When you access the login screen, hold down the Shift key while selecting Power icon > Restart. After restarting your PC, select Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Startup Settings > Restart from the options screen. After rebooting your PC, select F5 for Safe Mode with Network. Go to System Restore and select a good previous point and see if it helps.

6] First create a system restore point, then run regedit to open the registry editor. Then navigate to the next button:

HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTSoftwareMicrosoftIdentityCRLStoredIdentities

Expand StoredIdentities and remove the key from the Microsoft account that creates problems. After that, remove this device from your Microsoft account by clicking this link. Now try to connect and see if it works. You can always add this device to your device list in your Microsoft account.

7] If you reset the password online, use the new password on your Windows 10/8 PC.

8] Try resetting your password online here and use the new password now.

9] If your keyboard is configured to support multiple languages, make sure you are using the correct language. You can check the settings in the taskbar. More information at the end of this article.
