What is Catalyst Control Center (CCC.exe)?

Some users came to us after discovering the ccc.exe process in the Task Manager. As it seems to take up more and more PC resources, some users rightly wonder whether the process is real or whether they should delete it from their systems.

In general, CCC in ccc.exe stands for Catalyst Control Center. This process is linked to all drivers on your ATI graphics card. How to solve problems with CCC.exe

If CCC.exe encounters a problem, an error message may appear on your screen. Some common error messages are:

• CCC.exe no longer works.
• CCC.exe encountered a problem.
• Catalyst Control Center: The host application has detected an error and must be closed.

After you have deleted the two previous restarts, log in to the administrator account to get a message that the ccc.exe process no longer works.

Stop CCC.exe temporarily

If the Catalyst Control Center is constantly causing problems, consider this more efficient way to stop the process when and where you need it, but only temporarily – until you restart your computer. To do this, simply follow the steps below:

1. First, start on your computer with administrator privileges.
2. Then right-click on the desktop and select New -> Shortcut.
3. When the Create Shortcut applet is loaded, copy and paste the following taskkill /f /im ccc.exe file into the Item pane item type, and then click Next.
4. On the next screen, type a name in the Name box for this shortcut, and then click Finish.
