Configure the Firefox Quantum browser to disable telemetry and data collection

In our previous contribution to managing the telemetry and data collection settings of Windows 10, we saw how to configure and disable Windows 10 telemetry and data collection for the entire system or for individual components on Windows 10. The same is true for Firefox, but the procedure is slightly different. Firefox Quantum, which claims to be more than twice as fast as its previous iterations, allows you to disable telemetry and data acquisition .

The browser comes with some changes and privacy enhancements that you can access from the Settings page and that are configured so that the browser can control the type of data it shares with Mozilla and sends to Mozilla servers.

Start Firefox Quantum, select’Menu’ (3 items) and select Options. Then go to the’Privacy and Security’ section on the’Settings’ page. Here you can specify that Firefox can send technical data and interaction data, among other things. But even after setting these options, Firefox continues to collect and send data to the servers.

To completely disable telemetry and data capture in Mozilla Firefox Quantum, do the following

Type ‘about : config’ in the address bar and press Enter. If you are asked for a warning message, ignore it and continue. Click I accept the risk!

Enter telemetry in the search filter field and search the result :

Double-click any of the above parameters except toolkit.telemetetry.server and change their values to FalseFalse. You can also right-click the preference and select Shift.

Double-click on the parameter toolkit.telemetry.server and empty the value.

Enter the experiments in the search filter field and search for the following parameters

Double-click here on one of the parameters above and change their values to False. You can also right-click the preference and select Shift.
