The current cumulative firmware and drivers of the Surface Book for the Microsoft Download Center are now available for download. To make each device work better or as expected, it should do 2 important things
- Offer regular hardware updates, better known as firmware updates
- Offer software updates.
Microsoft provided firmware and driver updates for the Surface Book, including optional WinTab drivers.

This firmware and driver package contains drivers for all Surface Book components and system firmware updates deployed via Windows Update. All drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Windows 10 Enterprise editions. In addition, the WinTab driver is provided for professionals who need WinTab compatibility with some Surface Pen compatible applications.
All drivers and firmware required to deploy custom Windows images to your surface devices are included in the driver MSI and ZIP files. For simplicity, Ethernet dongle drivers are included as separate packages in addition to ZIP and MSI. The ZIP file allows selective installation or deployment of individual drivers, while MSI automatically installs all relevant drivers by default.

- Book area required for compatibility with these drivers. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 10, including Enterprise versions.
Installation Instructions
Visit the download page and select the desired downloads. Use the included hardware updates and drivers to solve problems with custom Windows installations on your Surface Book or prepare your custom images for enterprise use. Please note that you must be connected to the Internet while downloading updates from your Surface device. If you cannot install the updates due to Wi-Fi problems, please plug your Surface into a power outlet before installing the updates.
Drivers, firmware and Surface Pro 4 software are also available.
