Does anyone else have any problems with the adventure synchronization that no longer works since the system was updated?
Pokemon Go’s adventure sync may not work if you’re using an outdated version of the Pokemon Go application or if you’re using some sort of battery saver/optimizer. If you’re using a manual time zone on your device, you may also experience problems. The low accuracy mode is also one of the reasons why Adventure Sync does not display physical activity data. If the required permissions, especially storage and location permissions, are not granted for Pokemon Go, the application may have access problems.
Adventure Sync is a tool that you can enable in the Pokémon Go settings. It uses your phone’s GPS and data from some fitness applications to give you in-game credit for your activity when Pokémon Go is not running actively in the foreground. Once the application is activated, you simply take your phone with you, and the next time you log in to the application, you’ll be credited for the distance you’ve travelled, provided you weren’t too fast. All the Buddy candies you win will be credited to you immediately, and your eggs will hatch. You can even receive rewards for achieving certain fitness goals.
Confirm that Pokémon GO is connected to Google Fit or Apple Health.
Google Fit: Open Settings > Google > Google Fit > Calls and Connected Devices and confirm that Pokémon GO is listed as a connected device.

Check if Adventure Sync is Enabled in Pokémon Go
Make sure that Adventure Sync is enabled in Pokémon Go and confirm that Pokémon GO is listed as a connected device.
- Launch the Pokemon Go application on your phone.
- Tap the Pokemon icon.
- Go to Settings and check the Adventure Sync button.
- Tap Activate when the message asking you to confirm appears.
- You should now receive a message that Adventure Sync is enabled.
Turn off your Device’s Battery Saving Mode
The new smart mobile devices feature a battery saving mode that extends the battery life of the devices by limiting background operations of sensors, services and applications. However, if the Pokemon Go application and required health applications such as Google Fit and Apple Health are not excluded from the battery saver mode, Adventure Sync may not record the distance traveled. In this case, you must either exclude these applications from battery saving or disable battery saving properly (recommended). For illustration purposes, we will follow the Android version of the Pokemon Go application, so you can follow the instructions for your device platform.
- Open your device’s notifications by dragging down (or up) at the top of the screen.
- Then click Disable Battery Saver.
- You can reconfirm it using the Battery/Optimize Battery/Power Saver menu. If your device supports it, exclude Pokemon Go and Google Fit/Apple Health from battery optimization.
- Remember that Adventure Sync is not affected by Pokeman’s battery saving mode.
