The CONFIG_LIST_FAILED error check has the value 0x00000073. This error check indicates that one of the upper registry keys, also known as the central system hive, cannot be linked in the registry tree. 2. C:\ will change its path to C:\windows\system32\config> as soon as it is ready, type the following commands and press Enter after entering each one:ren default default.old
ren sam sam.old
ren system system.old
ren security security.old
ren software software.old
cd regback

3. after the last cd regback command, the C:\ drive changes its path to C:\windows\system32\config\regback>, between the following, and presses Enter again after entering each of them :

copy default c:\windows\system32\config
copy sam c:\windows\system32\config
copy system c:\windows\system32\config
copy security c:\windows\system32\config
copy software c:\windows\system32\config

SFC /Scannow
