The CONFIG_LIST_FAILED error check has the value 0x00000073. This error check indicates that one of the upper registry keys, also known as the central system hive, cannot be linked in the registry tree. A common cause of this error is that the Windows operating system no longer has disk space on the system drive.
STOP 0x00000073 is a serious Windows error, usually called a stop message, error check or, more commonly, Blue Screen of Death (BSoD). The system is in a forced restart state. Any unsaved work is probably lost.
Try to resolve the error CONFIG_LIST_FAILED STOP: 0x00000073 by following the steps below:
Using Safe Mode from the Command Prompt
To do this, you must start the system in safe mode at the command prompt, restart the system, press the F8 key several times until the Start menu appears, then select Backup mode with command prompt.
1. At the prompt, type cd windows\system32\config and press Enter.

2. C:\ will change its path to C:\windows\system32\config> as soon as it is ready, type the following commands and press Enter after entering each one:ren default default.old
ren sam sam.old
ren system system.old

cd regback
3. after the last cd regback command, the C:\ drive changes its path to C:\windows\system32\config\regback>, between the following, and presses Enter again after entering each of them :
copy default c:\windows\system32\config
copy sam c:\windows\system32\config
copy system c:\windows\system32\config
copy security c:\windows\system32\config
copy software c:\windows\system32\config
SFC /Scannow
This order is really practical. It analyzes and repairs Windows system files. You can execute this command from the command line in safe mode. If you are using a bootable DVD or USB stick, you can execute this command:
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\ windows
Simply replace c:\ with the letter from your Windows system drive.
If you use this command from the normal Windows desktop or Safe Mode, use the following command:
sfc /scannow
