  • One (or both) computers are not configured to allow full access – the most common reason for this error is when TeamViewer is configured to prohibit full access control. This can happen on one or both participating computers. In this case, the solution is to access TeamViewer’s advanced settings and configure the software to allow full access.
  • The network connection triggers the error – Another fairly common reason that triggers this error is the inconsistency with the Internet connection. This usually happens on computers that use an ISP that assigns dynamic IP addresses. In this case, the easiest solution is to restart all the network connections concerned.
  • Microsoft Store Teamviewer App is buggy – There are many user reports that have exactly these problems with the Microsoft Store version of the TeamViewer application. The vast majority of the users involved managed to solve the problem by simply installing the (classic) desktop version of TeamViewer.
  • The latest version of TeamViewer is not supported by one (or both) computers – there are cases where the latest version of TeamViewer causes this particular problem on low specification computers. Upgrading the TeamViewer version to all parties involved should solve the problem in this case.

Check the TeamViewer access settings

When someone accesses your computer via TeamViewer, he or she gets full control of your PC by default. That is, with full access, you can connect and view your screen, control your computer, transfer files, establish a VPN connection to your computer, lock the local keyboard and mouse, control the local TeamViewer, transfer files via the file box and view your screen via a page change.

Step 1: Launch the TeamViewer application. Click on the Tools menu, click on Options, then on Advanced.
Step 2: Scroll down the right pane to display the advanced settings for connections to this computer.
Step 3: Select Custom Settings from the drop-down menu, then click the Configure button to open the Access Control Details dialog box, where you can change the default access settings.
