The OneDrive 0x8004en34 error occurs when a user tries to log on to their OneDrive account on OneDrive for Enterprise but the application does not recognize the Microsoft account. If you encounter this error code, you can correct it by following these steps.
Before you begin, you must verify the user name or e-mail address of the Microsoft account. If it is correct, the problem may be caused by OneDrive not syncing properly with your Microsoft account or the OneDrive application not being installed correctly
In the case of OneDrive for Business, the error could be caused by a preventive Group Policy.
Unlinking and Relinking the OneDrive Account
- Start Microsoft OneDrive if you have not already done so.
- Click the small arrow icon in the system tray to display the hidden icons.
- Right-click the Microsoft OneDrive icon.
- Select Settings from the options.
- In the Microsoft OneDrive Settings window, open the Account tab.
- Click the Disconnect this PC link.
- When a dialog box appears, click the Disconnect Account link.
- Next you will see the OneDrive configuration screen.
- Enter your email address associated with your OneDrive account and click Sign In.
- Enter your password when prompted.
- Complete the installation process and check that the error is corrected.
Reinstalling the OneDrive Client
Missing or corrupted files in the OneDrive client could be one of the causes of the OneDrive 0x8004de34 error. In such a case, you should consider reinstalling the OneDrive client.
Press Win+R to open the Run window and enter the command appwiz.cpl. Press Enter to open the Programs and Features menu.
Right-click Microsoft OneDrive and select Uninstall. Press Yes for the confirmation message.
Restart your computer after OneDrive is uninstalled.
Resetting the OneDrive Client
- Click Start and select Settings.
- Go to Applications > Applications and Features.
- Use the search bar to find the OneDrive application.
- Click the OneDrive application in the list.
- Click Advanced Options.
- Scroll down and click the Finish button. This will terminate any OneDrive processes that are still running.
- Scroll down and click Reset. When prompted for confirmation, click Reset again.
- Restart your computer and see if there are any improvements.
Remove OneDrive Cached Credential
- stop OneDrive (right click in the system tray)
- go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credentials Manager
- Click Windows Credentials (right)
- select the down arrow to the right of OneDrive Cached Credential
- select “Edit” and enter your OneDrive username/password (Microsoft account)
- go to the Start menu and run OneDrive again
This may allow you to restore your OneDrive without resetting your local copy.
