Windows 10 default settings give the taskbar, action center and even the user interface start menu a black color, but this does not limit the user’s ability to change the color of their choice. The latest version of the operating system includes several options and various settings to customize the taskbar and start menu in Windows 10, as such you can add a custom color to the taskbar in Windows 10 App Settings.

The program fixes common errors that might occur on Windows systems with ease - no need for hours of troubleshooting when you have the perfect solution at your fingertips:

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

To do this, launch the’Preferences’ application. Select the’Customize’ tile from the menu and select the ‘Colors’ option.

Then look for the option’Automatically pick a accent color from my background’. If this option is enabled, disable it to control the colors of the taskbar and other display elements.

Scroll down until you find the last color field. It is the box that allows individual customization by the user.

To continue, enable the Show Color option in the taskbar, Start menu and Action Center and select one of the predefined colors as the current color, ignoring the last field.

Now open the registry editor. Press Win +R in combination.

In the displayed dialog box, type’Run’ and press Enter. Navigate to the next path:

Here you should notice a 32-bit DWORD SpecialColor value. It already has a value in Windows 10.

This value is a color in alpha, blue, green, red, red, short ABGR formats. You can enter a value to define your own color. For example, I set a gray color here by changing the value data from SpecialColor to gray (the value is 00bab4ab).

Restart your computer and you will see the changes take effect.

Hat top.
