- Change your Wakeup Word to Amazon, Echo, or Computer. The new Alexa name will only work on this individual echo device. If you want to change Alexa’s name on one of your other echo devices, press the Back key, select one of your other echo devices and repeat the process.
To change the “Wake-Word” of Alexa via your speaker
You can also change Alexa’s name by simply asking “Alexa, can you change your name” or “Alexa, can you change your alarm word? Alexa will respond by saying, “I can help you change the alarm word on this device. Do you want to do that now?” She will then show you the different name options you can give it and then ask you to choose one. This change will take effect in a few minutes.
Changing Alexa’s Voice or Accent
It’s always confusing that Alexa can’t even have a male voice, but there are other ways to change it when you’re tired of the same notes and intonations. If you have ever wanted to give your interlocutor a British accent or an Australian twang, you can do it. You can also ask Alexa to speak English with an Indian accent.
