The error code 0x87e0000d is displayed by Xbox One and PC users when they try to install certain games from the Microsoft Game Store.
Troubleshooting Windows Store Applications
Before you start checking some error messages, it is useful to run the Microsoft Store troubleshooting. This will detect problems and try to solve them automatically. Even if they cannot be fixed, it is still useful to know what the problem is if the store does not display a specific error when you start it.
Download the Windows 10 troubleshooter directly from Microsoft.
Open the Diagnostic Wizard file, which should be selected by default. Click Next to move to the wizard. At the end, note any error messages that could not be corrected.
Checking the status of Xbox One servers
Before trying other patches, you should check if the problem is not beyond your control. Several affected users, for whom we also have difficulty correcting error code 0x87e0000d, have confirmed that the problem in their case was due to a problem with Xbox Live servers.
Note that PCs and Xbox One consoles work on the same common infrastructure. This means that if a server problem affects one platform, the chances of the other platform also increase.
To check if your particular scenario is caused by a server problem, visit this link (here) and see if Xbox Live services have downtime. In most cases, this is due to a DDoS attack or a planned maintenance period.
Hard Restart Xbox One
To perform a hard restart, press and hold the power switch for 10 seconds while the system is powered on. The system will shut down. If you press the button again, the green startup screen appears. All your data will be kept, but the cache will be cleared and some settings will be reset and connection or game start problems will be resolved.
You can also make a complete stop by going to SETTINGS > POWER & POWER ON and switching the POWER MODE from Instant-On to Power Save. After changing the setting, select “Turn off the Xbox”. It can be turned on again by holding down the GUIDE button on the Xbox controller or the button on the front of the Xbox console. Once online again, you can return to SETTINGS > POWER & START and activate it again immediately.
If manual restart via a key or menu does not work, proceed as usual: Turn off the Xbox One, unplug it, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in and turn it back on.
Power Cycle Xbox One
- Run a full circuit or physically disconnect the Xbox One console to completely restart it and solve many common problems. This process does not delete any of your games or data.
- Restart your console
- Press the Xbox button to open the manual.
Note: Press the Xbox button to open the manual from any other console screen.
- Select Settings.
- Select Restart the console.
- Select Yes to confirm.
Note If you cannot access the instructions or if the console appears frozen, press and hold the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until the console is turned off. Once the console is turned off, press the Xbox button on the console again to restart it.
