Many iPhone users reported that they could not find photos taken live during a FaceTime call in the Photos application or elsewhere in the iPhone memory. Restart your iPhone
Just restart your iPhone to solve the “FaceTime Live photos don’t work in iOS 11” problem for you.

Reset FaceTime
The first thing to do in this situation is to reset the face time. FaceTime can be turned on and off in the Settings application. If it is disabled, you can no longer use FaceTime.
If you turn it off and then on again, FaceTime will reset itself, which may solve the problem of live photos.
To reset FaceTime:
- Settings

Updating to the latest operating system
With the release of iOS 12, Apple has temporarily removed the ability to take live pictures in FaceTime. This was probably due to a security hole in FaceTime. Live pictures are available again, but you will need to update your camera with the latest software to use them. The person you are shooting must also update their camera with the latest software.
On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > Software Update. On a Mac, go to System Preferences > Software Update.
Check Live Photos Album
Photos from FaceTime Live are not accessible via FaceTime itself. Instead, the operating system stores them on the Photos application roll. If you can’t find them among the other photos on your iPhone, switch to the Albums tab, and then tap Live Photos.
On the Mac, tap the Live Photos tab on the sidebar of the Photos application to filter your live photos, which should include photos from FaceTime.
