The 0xc000012f error is a common error code format used by Windows and Windows software and driver manufacturers. This is usually because the supplier identifies the defect.
Error 0xc000012f means “Bad Image“, which means that the executable file of the program or one of the support modules is damaged. Or there is probably a DLL malfunction and especially in programs that use Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributables.
The error can occur in any version of Windows, and the following fixes apply to all versions, including Windows 10.
Performing system restore
– Select the Start button, type the control panel, then select it from the list of results.
– Search control for recovery.
– Select Restoration > Open System Recovery > Next.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Visual C++ Visual
Let’s uninstall and reinstall Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable by following these steps:
Press Windows + R, type control appwiz.cpl and press Enter.

Clear the Visual C++++ Redistributable check box and click OK.
Reinstall it by clicking on the box again.
Uninstalling Windows Update
The last update of Windows can also cause the error 0xc000012f. You should therefore check and uninstall the latest version of Windows Update installed.
1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R simultaneously to enter the Run field.
2) Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
3) In the left pane, click Show Installed Updates.
4) Find the latest update for Microsoft Windows, right-click on this update, then click Uninstall.
Cleaning unnecessary files
- Press Windows + R simultaneously.
- Type cleanmgr and press Enter.
- Then select the OS partition (C:) and press OK.
- Select the Configuration, Trash and Temporary Files log files.
- Finally, select Clean system files and wait until the process is complete.
Launch sfc/scannow
This is the simplest solution you can try to solve the error code 0xc000012f. Simply run the “sfc /scannow” command to perform an automatic system repair. Perform these steps:
Press the Windows key to open Start and type Command prompt in the search bar.
In the search results, right-click on the command prompt and select Run as administrator. Click Allow when prompted.
At the command prompt, type “sfc /scannow” and press Enter.
