Realtek is a Chinese manufacturer of electronic chips and currently manufactures and markets integrated circuits for communication networks, computer peripherals and multimedia integrated circuits. Most motherboard manufacturers buy integrated circuits for various computer components from them. One of these components could be audio chips. Audio chips need the latest drivers to work properly.

Drivers are sometimes installed automatically by the operating system, but in some cases they must be downloaded and installed manually. This may be a problem for some users because these drivers are not available in the Windows update and must be downloaded manually. Therefore, this article will teach you the easiest way to download and install these drivers on your computer.

Download and reinstall Realtek HD Audio Manager

Before downloading the new drivers, uninstall all current drivers. To avoid duplication conflicts between multiple drivers, you must also uninstall the duplicate audio drivers.

Update Realtek HD Audio drivers

Updating Realtek HD Audio Manager should be easy. Click the Start button, then type “Device Manager” and click Device Manager when it appears.

Then click on the arrow next to the audio inputs and outputs to display a list of your audio devices. You should see something similar to “Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)”. Right-click and click Update Driver (Windows should normally update this driver automatically, but it is known that it does not work.)

To reinstall your driver, right-click in the Device Manager, click Uninstall Device, and then restart your PC.

If Realtek updates, this is good news, but another reservation is that the latest driver is not always the best, and you may want to choose a different version of the driver. Or sometimes, the latest drivers provided by your motherboard are not the latest available, and you may not get the best sound quality.
