For those of you who have even more USB gadgets, you probably have a USB hub connected to one of your USB ports, so you can connect even more devices. How can I repair Windows 10 that does not detect the device on my desktop or laptop?
Check your USB cable or USB port.
Try a new USB cable to connect your device to your computer or another USB port. You can also connect your device to another Windows 10 computer. If the other Windows 10 computer can detect your device, it is most likely that your cable or USB port is defective. Change the cable or try another USB port.
Disable Fast Startup
Sometimes your USB hard disk may not be recognized because of the quick start function of Windows 10. This can cause all kinds of problems, especially if you use a USB stick to store important data.
Check the drive in Hard Disk Management.
First, make sure that Windows recognizes the drive when you plug it in. Connect your removable disk to your computer if it is not already connected.
Then open the Disk Management tool. To do this, press the Windows + X button (or right-click the Start button) to open the Power User menu and select Disk Management from the list. You can also open the Run with Windows + R dialog box and type diskmgmt.msc to open this utility. As its name suggests, Disk Management allows you to view all the hard drives connected to your computer.
Use the Device Manager to perform detective work.
Assuming that this is not a catastrophic hardware problem, a good way to get an idea of what is happening is to take a look at the Windows Device Manager once you have connected your USB device. You can find it in Windows 10 by clicking the Start button and typing Device, or you can go to your Control Panel and click Device Manager.
If your USB device is still not displayed on the system, you can try it on another device and check if it works on another operating system. In this case, transfer all your important files to another device. If this is not the case, we are concerned that your USB device may have become dishonest.
