When you open Chrome, you expect to be greeted by a new tab or home page. But it’s not fun to open a series of random tabs from a previous session instead.
And, things are certainly not good if exactly the same thing happens over and over again when you open Chrome.

Check extensions
First of all, you should check all recently installed chrome extensions. Move to three points in the upper right corner of a chrome browser window, click on it and navigate to Other Tools->Extensions.

Customization of search settings
Search settings are sometimes configured to open new tabs every time you search for something. This can be very annoying in most cases and in this step we will disable this setting.
- Open the Chrome browser, type something in the search bar and press Enter.
- Click on the “Settings” option directly above your results.
- Then click on “Search settings”.
- Scroll down in the settings option and make sure the “Open a new window for each result” box is not checked.
This prevents the browser from opening a new tab every time you search for something. If the problem persists, proceed to the next solution.
Remove unwanted programs, malware, pop-ups and ads from Chrome.
To solve this problem, try it.
- Open the control panel and check all the programs installed on your PC. Make sure that no software has been installed without your permission. If you find one, uninstall it.
- Type chrome://extensions/ in the address bar. All extensions installed on your computer will be opened. Make sure there’s nothing strange about it. If you find one, remove it.
