When using hybrid stop / quick start to accelerate Windows, the problem mentioned here may occur. Try the following steps to disable Hybrid Shutdown/Fast Startup :
- Press Win+R to open the Run window and enter the command powercfg.cpl.
- In the left options, select Select what the power button does.
- Click the Change settings not currently available option.
- Clear the Enable Quick Start check box.
4] Reduce downtime
If all the above solutions fail, you can do the following :
- Press Win + R to open the Run window and type regedit. Press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control.
- Right-click WaitToKillServiceTimeout and change the value to 5000.
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop.
- Right-click WaitToKillServiceTimeout again and change the value to 5000.
If you set this value to less than four digits (for example 5000), your PC will shut down faster, but you may lose data or damage your hard drive, so use this setting wisely. Remember that Windows does not recognize a 3-digit number here.
