In both cases, the solution is to recreate the Tokens.dat or Activation Tokens file on the system, whether it was corrupted, lost or not, or not successfully updated.
Delete Activation Token
1] Open the following folder – C:WindowsSystem32SPPStore2.0
If Windows is installed on another drive, replace C : in the path with the appropriate drive.
2] You will find the file’tokens.dat’ in the folder 2.0. Rename it’tokens.old’. Close the File Explorer.
3] Now execute the command prompt as administrator, type the following command, and press Enter:
0xC004F012net start sppsvc0xC004F012
4] Then execute the following command :
0xC004F012cscript.exe slmgr.vbs /rilc0xC004F012
5] Wait for the commands to execute and reboot the system twice.
6] Now go to ‘Settings > Activation and launch the ‘Activation Troubleshooter’.
This should solve the problem.
If this does not help, you can correct the error by changing the product key from the command prompt.
Change Windows product key
If the problem is that the KMS host is not in the DNS, make sure that the DNS has the correct KMS. The error 0xC004F012 indicates that the syntax of the file name or directory/volume labels is incorrect. In this case, you must change the product key as follows:
1] Close all open tabs and programs.
2] Open a high command prompt and proceed as follows:
3] 0xC004F012slmgr.vbs.ipk 0xC004F012
(4) Then enter the following and press Enter to activate the product key:
0xC004F012slmgr.vbs/ato0xC004F012
Windows 10 must be enabled.

You can also try to activate Windows 10 by phone. You will need to call Microsoft for this.
1] Enter ‘Slui 4′ in the’Start search’ field and press Enter.
2] Select your country and click’Next’.
3] Keep the window open and call your country’s toll-free number.
4] The automated system will give you a confirmation ID to note.
5] Enter this confirmation ID in the window box and click ‘Enable’.
