Process management with System Explorer for Windows

Today I found this nice freeware tool called System Explorer. It reminded me of the SysInternals Process Explorer, but it is a little more advanced. It is available in potable version and in installation version. One of the most interesting things I noticed is that when we open the application for the first time, it is requested a process security check with the online database.

Even if you close System Explorer, it is minimized in the taskbar with few options.

Here is a quote from their website :

System Explorer is a free, award-winning software for searching and managing system internals. This small software contains many useful tools to help you keep your system under control. System Explorer also gives you quick access to the file database that helps you identify unwanted processes or threats. System Explorer is translated into 21 languages and can be downloaded as installer and portable version. read more

IE9 vs. Chrome 9 vs. Firefox 4: A Microsoft comparison table

Microsoft provided a table on its website comparing its own Internet Explorer 9 with Firefox 4.0 Beta 11 and Chrome 9.0 Beta browsers.

In addition to being the fastest and most secure browser, Internet Explorer 9 also offers other features such as HTML5 video support, full hardware acceleration, etc.

While most people understand that the graph and its results are aligned with Microsoft’s browser, I and other TWC readers would certainly like to hear your opinion on what you think and perhaps the browsers themselves. Of course, if you had tried all three versions, you would probably be in a better position to give an opinion. read more

Windows slow computer due to high CPU load mscorsvw.exe

This article explains why, due to the high CPU usage mscorsvw.exe , a Windows 10/8/7 computer can run slowly and what to do about it. If you open the Task Manager in such a scenario, you will now find a process called mscorsvw.exe, which has a CPU load of more than 50%! This service is used by the.NET framework for precompilation. So what is the mscorsvw.exe process and how do I manage it?

Slow Windows computer due to high CPU usage mscorsvw.exe

David Notario made the following observation on the Microsoft MSDN blog:

mscorsvww.exe compiles.NET assemblies in the background. Once that’s done, he’ll disappear. After installing.NET Redist, high priority assemblies run in 5 to 10 minutes, then wait until your computer is idle to process low priority assemblies. Once it does, it will shut down and you will no longer see mscorsvw.exe. One important thing is that compiling takes place in a low priority process, so you can see 100% of the CPU usage, so it tries not to steal the CPU for other things you do. Once everything is compiled, assemblies can now exchange pages through different processes and hot start will usually be much faster, so we don’t throw your cycles

Game evaluations under Windows 7 explained

Windows 7 has an advanced game management system that helps you control the content of a game as it is described and evaluated by the game board.

The Games Rating Board is an organization that sets guidelines for video game content for different regions and countries. It also defines the classification of games according to the characteristics and content of the games. A game rating table generally assigns a rating level based on age to each game. The rating table also checks the content of each game and adds content descriptors to the rating. Audience ratings and content descriptors are very similar to the systems often used to evaluate and describe film content. read more
