Drop shadows for icon labels on the Windows desktop cannot be deleted

In this screenshot, you can clearly see how Windows drops a shadow for symbol labels :

It is very easy to enable and disable drop shadows for symbol labels. You must open Performance Options / Visual Effects.

Icon drop shadows cannot be deleted

1 Press the Windows key + R combination, type Regedt32.exe into the Run dialog box and press Enter to open Registry Editor.

2 Navigate to next location:


3 The ListviewShadow named DWORD (REG_DWORD with the Value- Value- Value- Data as 1. Double-click on the same DWORD to change its value data, you will get this :

4 Enter the value Value Data as 0 and click OK.

You can now close the registry editor and restart the computer. After restarting, you will notice that there are no drop shadows for the desktop icon labels , as expected.
