Enabling the history function and saving calculations in Windows 10 Calculator

The Calculator application in Windows 10 seems simple, but it is powerful because it includes some standard, scientific and programming modes as well as a unit converter. It proves to be the perfect choice for preparing a calculation, converting measurements into a recipe or another project, or making complex problems of mathematics, algebra or geometry. It is also equipped with a history function , which makes it easier for the user to confirm correct number entry.

Sometimes it becomes essential for the user to record the calculations he has made, so that he can understand them and correct them in case of a problem. For example, if you want to create a report on the accounts and analyze the figures, you can activate the history function.

Enter ‘Calculator’ in the taskbar search bar and select the top result to open the calculator. To save your calculations, you must activate the History function.

When you enable the History function in the Windows 10 calculator, the application works like a desktop computer with the built-in printer. You can see all the steps.

If you make a mistake somewhere, you can easily locate the problem. To enable or display the History function in the Windows 10 calculator, click the Show History icon at the top right and the History window opens. Or press CTRL+H together.

When you change the computer size, the lower field moves to the right, where you also see the tabs for Memory and History.

Right-click the computer application open on your computer screen to see the options:

  • Paste

With’Copy’ you can paste your calculation history into any other program or use it in a spreadsheet. With’Paste’ you can copy and paste history entries into your main window.

Click the Trash icon in the lower right corner to Delete History

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+D to delete the history.
