Fortnite Error Code 91 indicates a connection issue, especially when playing at a public party. This can happen regardless of which platform you are playing on (PC, game console or mobile device).
The language of the error message may vary, but more often than not: “The game is currently not responding to participation requests. Please try again later. “
The good news is that error code 91 is not entirely serious and is easy to fix. First of all, you need to find out if this is a server problem. Sometimes when a Fortnite server crashes, this error can appear.
You can check Fortnite Twitter to see if the servers are down. They usually tweet when the server is down and give an estimate of when it will come back. In this case, you can simply try playing after the servers are turned on.
Otherwise, you can try the following fixes:
Check Fortnite Game Files
Checking game files can help you fix corrupted or missing game files in the game. So, this method should be your first choice:
1- Restart your computer
2- Launch the Epic Games Launcher> click Settings (icon to the left of the Start button)> and finally select Check.
3- Wait for the verification process to complete (no more than 10 minutes) and play Fortnite to check if the error persists.
Reinstall Fortnite on your device
This will ensure that you have the latest version of the game and all updated files. Be sure to uninstall the game first so you can download and install the latest version.
It is recommended that you try checking the game files before trying to reinstall them. The process is faster and both solutions serve the same purpose. If Error 91 is still a problem, you can contact Epic Games Support online. You can also find various ways to fix this error at gamepur.com.
Just keep trying
As ridiculous as it sounds, the simplest solution to this error seems to be to keep trying to join the group until you succeed.
As mentioned above, the issue was suspected to occur when the connection between a team member and the Epic Games server temporarily fails.
A few more attempts will likely give Fortnite enough time to reconnect to the server and successfully connect with your friends.
Change connection settings
To prevent accidental changes to the settings, we recommend that you complete this step last.
Log into the Fortnite lobby and make sure your game’s privacy is set to Private.
