Windows Error 0xD0000006 is an unexpected input output error that is displayed on your computer. Damaged, obsolete, missing or incomplete Microsoft Office drivers that are installed on your computer will display these types of errors on your system screen. Use the registry editor

Temporarily disable the installed antivirus program.

Do you use a network account?

If you have connected to your Mac with a network account such as Open directory accounts, this error may occur because Office for Mac cannot write your credentials on the keychain because it is “read-only”.

If you are logged in with a network account, log out and log back in with your local user account. Try activation again.

If you do not have a local user account, you must create one:

From the Apple menu, select System Preferences > Users and Groups.

Select Click on the padlock to make changes and enter your password. Choose Unlock.

Select +, then enter the new account information, then choose Create user.

Log in to your local user account and reactivate it.

Uninstall the current driver by following these steps:

  1. Open Start and Run and type “sysdm.cpl” in the text box.
  2. And click on Enter.
  3. Open the Hardware tab in the System Properties dialog box.
  4. Then press “Device Manager”.
  5. Double-click Device Type, then press the hardware device that reports the error code 0xD0000006.
  6. Go to the Driver tab and click the Uninstall button to completely uninstall the driver from the device.
  7. Install the new driver on your computer.
  8. Restart or restart your computer.
