Windows Error 0xD0000006 is an unexpected input output error that is displayed on your computer. Damaged, obsolete, missing or incomplete Microsoft Office drivers that are installed on your computer will display these types of errors on your system screen. Your data, files and software (applications) are usually corrupted. The error code 0xD0000006 is always the driver‘s problem. This is also the device code. This is a clear indication that there is something wrong with the driver of a device.
The Windows 0xD0000006 error code usually occurs on the Windows system because it appears when you run a Windows program in your Windows operating system. And this error code 0xD0000006 means: “The local WINS cannot be deleted.” Or the error code 0xD0000006 can also be displayed as “ERROR_CAN_NOT_DEL_LOCAL_WINS” or as value 0xFA1.
Use the registry editor
Click here to start your computer. Go to the Windows Start button and click on it to open it. Type regedit in this search box and press Enter. When the Registry Editor dialog box appears on your screen. In this search box, type a command HKEY _ LOCAL _ MACHINE _ SOFTWARE \ POLICIES \ MICROSOSOFT \ WINDOWS \ UPDATE WINDOWS \ TO. After opening this command, go to the AU folder of this tab. Select the Delete button in this open slide. Click on the ok button to complete this process. Close all tabs. Restart your computer.
Temporarily disable the installed antivirus program.
Sometimes, antivirus programs/advertising software in Microsoft Windows Installer files mark as spam and block many registry files. Please disable these programs temporarily and when the bug is fixed, you can reactivate them.
Troubleshooting error code 0xD0000006 on Office for Mac
Do you use a network account?
If you have connected to your Mac with a network account such as Open directory accounts, this error may occur because Office for Mac cannot write your credentials on the keychain because it is “read-only”.
If you are logged in with a network account, log out and log back in with your local user account. Try activation again.
If you do not have a local user account, you must create one:
From the Apple menu, select System Preferences > Users and Groups.
Select Click on the padlock to make changes and enter your password. Choose Unlock.
Select +, then enter the new account information, then choose Create user.
Log in to your local user account and reactivate it.
Reinstall the driver
Uninstall the current driver by following these steps:
- Open Start and Run and type “sysdm.cpl” in the text box.
- And click on Enter.
- Open the Hardware tab in the System Properties dialog box.
- Then press “Device Manager”.
- Double-click Device Type, then press the hardware device that reports the error code 0xD0000006.
- Go to the Driver tab and click the Uninstall button to completely uninstall the driver from the device.
- Install the new driver on your computer.
- Restart or restart your computer.
- Scan your PC completely with good antivirus software.
- Try using a different USB port.
