Modern Setup Host no longer works – Windows 10 Error

One of the problems reported by some users about Microsoft Answers & Reddit is that it stopped on a Modern Setup Host Error when upgrading to Windows 10, using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. Although Microsoft did not respond with a correct correction, Answers & Reddit’s analysis raised some ideas that might work. See if any of them work for you.

We recommend you try using this new tool. It fixes a wide range of computer errors, as well as protecting against things like file loss, malware, hardware failures and optimizes your PC for maximum performance. It fixed our PC quicker than doing it manually:

  • Step 1 : Download PC Repair & Optimizer Tool (Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, Vista – Microsoft Gold Certified).
  • Step 2 : Click “Start Scan” to find Windows registry issues that could be causing PC problems.
  • Step 3 : Click “Repair All” to fix all issues.

.exe. It is required when you run Setup to upgrade your PC to Windows 10. If it fails for any reason, you will see this error and the upgrade process will fail.

Now select all contents and delete everything in this folder.

Then click Command Prompt (Admin) in the WiX menu, type the following command and press Enter :

wuauclt.exe /updatenow

Restart your computer and restart the upgrade process.

(4) Ben Wil proposed the following solution. Download and run the Windows 10 Media Creation tool. Download it and check the download. When this process is complete, close the tool and press WinKey+R to open the Run field.

Insert this path and press Enter:


Your installation should start and the upgrade should be successful.
