11)Replace the network adapter. In the dialog box that appears, click to select your network. Right-click to select Properties. In the dialog box that appears, click IPv4 and click Properties again. You can see your current primary and alternate DNS at the bottom of the dialog box.
The following image shows me that my DNS servers are not properly ordered and that I am therefore not able to use the maximum speed. It also tells me which DNS server I should do primary and which I should enter the alternative DNS. One should be my primary DNA, and both should be my alternative DNA.
Reference DNS – Create a custom DNS list optimized for your location
This DNS reference feature allows you to create a list of DNS servers that are optimal for your location. It checks the various public DNS services available and sorts them by speed. It also marks the different lines that DNS servers display in red and orange if it finds errors with these DNS servers. It shows you the meaning of these red and orange DNS servers in the Conclusions tab. Based on these sorted results, you can easily replace your current DNS service with the fastest.
If you intend to change your DNS servers after testing, check the ability of these DNS servers to handle phishing and malware. You can search using the DNS owner’s name to see if they offer complete protection against phishing. In my case, although the DNS benchmark showed Google DNS at the top of Comodo, I preferred to use Comodo DNS because it provides both protection against malware and phishing.
For DNS Benchmark to work properly, it must be the only program that uses the Internet when you perform tests. Close all applications that use the Internet, then run DNS benchmark tests. This tool is available here .
It is also recommended to perform the DNS reference test two or three times – at different times – before determining the best DNS servers for your location. This will help you eliminate the element of doubt that slips due to the fact that the speed of the DNS server varies with traffic.
