Today I will blog about a software called WSCC a.k.a Windows System Control Center by KirySoft developers. It is a portable software that allows you to install, update, run and manage different suites such as NirSoft, SysInternals or Windows Utilities. I know there are a lot of programs that do that, but it draws my attention because of the way it has been organized.

The feature I liked most about this freeware is that it gives you a brief description of each program and allows you to run it from there. You can check for updates and install new applications added by the company for each application. As this is a portable application, it would be an excellent addition to your USB stick. read more

A new adaptation has been found in Windows 8. There is a theme called Aero Lite Glass The Aero Lite theme should be the alternative theme for Windows 8 users with low-end hardware. In short, just as you have the Aero Basic theme in Windows 7, you also have the Aero Lite theme in Windows 8

WinUnleaked.tk released this discovery today, where they showed how to enable the Aero Lite Glass theme.

Navigate to your System32 folder and start WindowsAnytimeUnytimeUpgradeResults.exe. That’s it, that’s it. Your Windows 8 will now display the Aero Lite Glass theme. read more

Sometimes, when we try to delete, rename or move a file to a folder, we receive a message that Another process is using the file or folder. This means that some processes on your Windows computer have locked the file as required for that process. Sometimes restarting your computer or booting in safe mode can help, but in some cases it doesn’t help either. In such a case, you may need a third-party tool. I have been using Windows 8 RTM for some time. While I initially refused to leave the office and go to the starting screen, I got used to it over time and I no longer feel that the starting screen is flying in my face.

However, it would have been a good idea if Microsoft had given Widows 8 users the ability to disable Metro screen mode on a desktop computer. If this were not possible, at least one way to open the startup screen without leaving the desktop would have been nice. But neither option is available to Windows 8 users, and you must leave the desktop, go to the home screen, open an application, and then return to the desktop to continue working. read more
