GetWindowText is a very small portable program for reading and copying text in open windows.
If you have a program folder or window open and need to copy the text inside, you can easily do so with this tool. Simply left click the GetWindowText icon on the left side and hold down the left mouse button to start playback.
Then simply move the mouse over the window from which the text is to be read and copied. When you release the mouse button, playback is complete. The text appears in the text box, which you can then copy.
This Windows freeware can read almost all texts from Edit, Static, Groupbox Controls etc. It also supports directory trees (SysTreeView32), drop-down lists and list views (SysListView32) to read all content.
