Lock, save and restore desktop icon layout on Windows with DesktopOK

Tired of changing the order of your desktop icons after each screen resolution change? The solution to this frustrating problem is DesktopOK. DesktopOK is a free desktop icon layout software that allows you to save, restore and lock the location and layout of desktop icons. It can record icon positions and other desktop settings. This small utility is very useful for those who frequently change the screen resolution.

Save and restore desktop icon position

To save an icon layout, simply click’Save icon layout’ in the DesktopOK menu and you can see an entry named as your PC screen resolution appears in the list. Don’t worry, you can edit the names without any problem. I prefer to rename the arrangements according to the monitors. For example, I rename it to Dell, which I suppose is the layout of my PC monitor. I renamed the other one to Sony Bravia, what I can learn is this arrangement for my TV. You can also record different arrangements for the same devices by simply adding 1, 2, 3, etc. read more
