You may not be able to download boot files into Synapse X because antivirus programs / firewalls or your ISP will block them. In addition, an error may also be discussed if Synapse X is not running as an administrator.
The affected user gets an error when trying to start / install the Synapse application. Some users have encountered the error right after the boot while others have encountered the error after a long period of use.
Before troubleshooting, make sure that the Synapse website is working. Also perform a simple restart of your system to see if the problem is solved.
White list Synapse X from antivirus software
Unfortunately, antivirus software has always been a problem for Synapse X because of how it works. Synapse X uses methods, which are also often used by malicious programs that generate false positives from antivirus software.
We are going to show you how to whitelist Synapse X in Windows Protector, the most common antivirus on Windows computers. If you use another antivirus (Norton, Malwarebytes, etc.) To whitelist Synapse X folder, continue creating your Synapse X account. If not, follow the instructions below.
- First open the Windows Security application from the Start menu.
- Then click on the Protection against viruses and threats tab.
- Click on “Manage settings”.
- Now scroll down to add or remove exceptions.
- Finally, click on “Add exception”, “Folder” and select the directory we extracted from the zip file earlier.
You have successfully added the folder Synapse X to the Windows Protector white list. Now we can proceed with the actual installation of Synapse X.
Disable Advanced Security Xfinity
When you use advanced security Xfinity xFi, it provides a safer viewing experience. When adding a security level it can cause problems for the application. Therefore, if you use the advanced xFi security, it can block access to the Synapse application. With this in mind, you can disable this security measure as follows:
- Start the application or the xFi site and click on “More”.
- Now go to “My Services” and uncheck the “Advanced xFi Security” checkbox.
- Then restart the Synapse X application and check if the “Failed to download startup files” error has been corrected.
Run Synapse X with administrator rights
In the latest version of Windows, Microsoft has improved security and data protection features of its operating system. One of these features is using user account control to restrict access to critical system resources. This error can occur if Synapse X does not have access rights to protected system resources. In this context, the problem can be solved by running Synapse X with administrator rights.
- Right-click on the Synapse X shortcut icon and select Run as administrator.
- Now check if Synapse X works correctly.
VPN or virtual private network creates a secure tunnel for transferring data packets. If your Internet service provider has blocked your connection to this tool, VPN can offer a practical solution. While the VPN hides your ISP and gives you access to websites with geographical restrictions, it can also be useful when you want to access Synapse X.
So download your favorite VPN, install it on your computer and select the region from which you want to access this software. Then run the Synapse X application and check if there is a “Download launch files failed” error.
