Due to the SSL error, the error “Your connection is not private” or “Net::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID” appears on the screen. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is used by TurboTenant and other websites to protect the privacy and security of the information you enter on their pages.

If you receive the SSL Net::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID error in Google Chrome, it means that your Internet connection or computer prevents Chrome from loading the page safely and privately.

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.example.com (for example, passwords, messages, bank information or credit cards).

NET::ER_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

This is also accompanied by an error message that helps to locate the exact problem. Below are some of the most common error codes you can see in Google Chrome:

  • ERR_CERT_SYMANTEC_LEGACY
  • NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
  • NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID (this occurs when the certificate does not match the domain)
  • NET::ERR_CERT_WEAK_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM
  • NTE::ERR_CERTIFICATE_TRANSPARENCY_REQUIRED
  • NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
  • SSL certificate error
  • ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

Check your antivirus software or firewall.

Sometimes, antivirus software blocks strange SSL certificates or connections. The best way to correct this SSL error is to disable the https scanning function in your antivirus or firewall software.

If you think your antivirus or Internet security has blocked SSL connections and you cannot disable SSL scanning anywhere, you can try to temporarily disable the program to test it. If the problem has disappeared after the program is disabled, I suggest you switch to another antivirus or Internet security program.

Set the date and time of your computer

date-and-time-settings

Incorrect setting of the date and time on your computer may be one of the causes of the error “Your connection is not private”. You can follow these steps to resolve the error “Your connections are not private”:

1) Right-click on the date and time area in the lower right corner of your PC desktop, then select Customize date and time.

2) Update the date and time of your current time zone.

Ignore the error and continue with the website.

You can ignore the error and go directly to the website if you are not securely connected. This is not a solution we would recommend unless you are 100% sure that you trust the website you are connecting to.

If you want Google Chrome to ignore such errors in the future, you can add a link to the destination of the.exe file on your desktop.

Find Google Chrome on your desktop, right-click on it and go to Properties. In the field where it says’target’, insert a space at the end and type ‘ignorance certificate error’ as shown in the screenshot below.

Clear Chrome navigation data

As we know, browsers store your browser’s data; and this data may prevent your browser from establishing a secure connection. You must therefore delete your data. Here is the procedure to follow:

  • On the PC: press Ctrl + Shift + Delete and delete the data.
  • In a mobile phone: Chrome Menu → Settings → Privacy → Delete navigation data

Open the page in incognito mode.

Regardless of the error code you receive, try opening a new window in incognito mode. In Google Chrome, click Ctrl + Shift + N, or select the entry in the browser menu. Then check that the page on which you receive the error messages is opened correctly.

When it opens and everything works, try the following options: disable all extensions, clear the cache and cookies, restore browser settings, or even reinstall your browser.

Clean your cache

You can also delete your Chrome navigation data. This is another popular all-purpose solution, especially if the date and time change did not work.

Open Chrome, press “Menu”, navigate to “Privacy”, select “Settings”, select “Clear Navigation Data”. Make sure to mark all fields on the screen and then click on “Delete”.
