If you like anime and manga, you’ve probably heard of Crunchyroll. The content provider specializes in contemporary (and classic) anime/manga series that are gaining in popularity day after day.
But you have to deal with poor quality ads and videos. As a free user, the videos will be available in 480p. In addition, the shows you will see are limited. To enjoy a better experience, subscribe to the Premium service for $6.95 per month. At this price, you will see unlimited HD content.
Although the service offers good value for money, users sometimes complain that the Crunchyroll application does not work and no matter what bugs they try, this will not solve the problem. Well, there are reasons for this video streaming problem, and in this guide we will explain these reasons and propose solutions.
How to repair crunchy rolls that do not work
For desktop users
If you are on a computer with a browser, make sure your browser is up to date. See the supported browser versions on the official Crunchy Roll website. Try to disable all browser extensions (or try to access them in incognito mode).
Finally, try more than one browser to check the problem.
For console users
On your console, delete your CACHE, then delete the APP data (in this order) before uninstalling, deactivating/uninstalling and reinstalling the Crunchyroll application on the My Devices page.
Check the time and date and disable the location settings.
Everything in its own time. Please note that under the Crunchyroll User Agreement, you may not use third-party software to circumvent the geographic limitation imposed by the supplier. Basically, there is a reason why they only offer a certain type of content on American soil. Once we’ve settled this, we’ll show you how to do it. Under our own responsibility, of course.
Disabling ad blockers
Users tend to use ad blockers with Crunchyroll because they get a premium feeling that is ad-free. Crunchyroll is known for its fair share of ads when playing videos that tend to appear. The ad blocker you use can be updated very frequently to avoid problems, but there are always cases where it collides with the platform and makes the video impossible to play. These ad blockers are usually found in browser extensions.
To check for chromium in your browser’s extensions, type “chrome://extensions” in the address bar and press Enter. You can disable any extension by disabling the “enable” option. This will automatically prevent this extension from making changes to your user interface. Restart your browser and check if video streaming is possible.
Contact the support team
If all the above methods do not work, it probably means that there is a problem with your account information in the cloud or that there is a problem with the Crunchyroll backend. If you are paying for the service and are having streaming problems, you should contact Crunchyroll’s official support.
