The very first thing to do to reset the Photos application on your Windows 10 computer. Open the Settings tab > Apps > Apps & Features. Now scroll down to Photos and select Advanced Options
Click the Reset button on the next screen to start the operation.
The process may take a few moments and your Windows Store application will reset its default settings.
2] Reinstalling app
PowerShell is a handy tool if you need to uninstall a preinstalled application in Windows 10. Open Windows PowerShell with administrator privileges and enter the following command –
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers
Then note the full name of the Microsoft.Windows.Photos package. In my case, you’ll see:
Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2017.35071.13510.0_neutral_split.scale-125_8wekyb3d8d8bbwe}
Enter the following command and press Enter-
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos_2017.35071.13510.0_neutral_split.scale-125_8wekyb3d8d8bbwewe}}. Remove AppxPackage
Once the application is installed, open Windows Store and locate and install Microsoft Photos directly from the Windows store.
Alternatively, you can use our 10AppsManager to uninstall and reinstall preinstalled applications from Windows 10 Store Apps with a single click.
These two solutions should help you solve the problem of slow photo applications under Windows 10. However, if the problem persists, you can enable Windows Photo Viewer and set it as the default photo opener.
