WiFi Profile Manager: View your favorite wireless network profiles under Windows 8/10

In previous versions of Windows, you could see the list of wireless networks to which you were previously connected, change the order in which those preferred networks were connected when more than one was available, and add or remove the preferred networks from that list. You can do this via Control PanelNetwork and InternetManage Wireless Networks.

Until Windows 7, previously connected wireless networks were stored and displayed in the list of preferred wireless networks, but this feature seems to have been removed in Windows 8. Microsoft probably deleted it because they added a supposedly smart feature that handles wireless profiles as much as you connect to them. Although you can still see native Windows 10/8 wireless network profiles, it would be nice if we now had free software to do it quickly, wouldn’t it? read more

Spybot 2 Search and Destroy is available for download now!

There was a time during the days of Windows XP when you had to install anti-spyware software after installing antivirus software. The two anti-spyware programs that almost everyone respected were AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy. Over time, anti-virus companies have begun to integrate anti-spyware definitions and features. In addition, from Windows Vista, the operating system simply increased its security, so it was not easy to install spyware or adware on Windows. It was therefore not necessary to install separate anti-spyware software. Over time, AdAware would have become a bloatware, and SpyBot, well, it disappeared from most people’s minds – but there were still many SpyBot fans who continued to use freeware. read more

Optimize the speed of your Internet connection with the DNS benchmark

11)Replace the network adapter. In the dialog box that appears, click to select your network. Right-click to select Properties. In the dialog box that appears, click IPv4 and click Properties again. You can see your current primary and alternate DNS at the bottom of the dialog box.

The following image shows me that my DNS servers are not properly ordered and that I am therefore not able to use the maximum speed. It also tells me which DNS server I should do primary and which I should enter the alternative DNS. One should be my primary DNA, and both should be my alternative DNA. read more

MemInfo – A Real-time Memory and Page file Usage Monitor

I am one of those people who would like to know what is happening in the background on my Windows computer. I used to use the task manager to manage widgets and freeware to find out what program was running, what my memory usage was, and so on. And then I came across this little utility called MemInfo!

MemInfo displays the current Windows memory usage in the taskbar. The current memory means both the physical memory and the page file in real time. It is also very adaptable. Under Options, you can choose whether the page file should be displayed instead of the physical memory or whether the display should be switched to free memory and the actual percentage. read more

Prevent Facebook from sending the message Seen By or Read Receipt in Chatbox

Like it or not, Facebook launched a feature some time ago – Read Receipts, which shows all your friends when you read their Facebook chat messages by posting a Seen By message. This function prevented you from ignoring your messages and forced you to reply.

While helping senders to know if the person to whom they sent the message read it and responded in time, it frustrates the recipients on the other side of the fence. Sometimes they did not want to show that they had read the message. To solve this problem, a company called CrossRider had developed a unique solution – a browser plugin called Chat Undetected. read more
