ARK: Survival Evolved may display an error when opening the descriptor file due to damaged game files. Check the integrity of the game files
If the files of ARK Survival Evolved game are damaged or missing on your computer, ARK may disable your computer. In this case it is important to check the integrity of the game files. Once Steam is installed on your computer, you can perform the following steps to check the integrity of the game files through the Steam client.
Step 1: Reboot your computer and run the Steam client on your PC.
Step 2: Go to the “Library” section, right-click the game ARK: Survival Evolved in the list of games and select “Properties” in the menu.
Step 3: In the “Properties” window, go to the “Local files” category and click the “Check game files integrity” button.
Step 4: When you’re finished, restart ARK Survival Evolved and see if this ARK continues to fly out.

Copy the Shootergame.Uproject file into the game folder.
The file shootergame.uproject is necessary for the work of the game and can cause the discussed error if the file is not in the folder with the game. In this case moving the file shootergame.uproject from the download folder to the folder with the game may solve the problem.
- Exit the client of the game / Steam and make sure that the task manager does not run the game / start process.
- Now open the Explorer and go to the next path:
- C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ download \ 346110 \ ShooterGame
- Then copy and paste the shootergame.uproject file along the next path:
- C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ ARK \ ShooterGame
- Then open the Stam client and start the game to see if the problem has been solved.
Move the game to the system disc
Most of your digital collection is probably in Steam, which fortunately allows you to easily move your games. In the main window, go to the top left corner and click the Downloads tab on the side panel. Click the “Steam Library Folders” button above, then click “Add Library Folder”. You can select any other folder on your system for use as an alternative installation location.
From now on, when you install a new game, you will be given a choice between the library folders of your choice. I have games that I play on my SSD and games that I return to on my slower spinning hard drive.
To move an already installed game, right-click its name on the sidebar of the Steam library, then go to the “Local Files” tab. Click on “Move Installation Folder”. Steam will show you a drop-down menu with all the library folders you’ve selected. Select the one you want to move the game to, then click “Move Folder”.
If the game files take up a lot of space, it may take some time. However, when it is done, Steam will have no problem launching the game.
