What is grooveex.dll?
The original grooveex.dll file is a Microsoft Office software component of Microsoft Corporation.
“Grooveex.dll” is a Microsoft or BHO (Browser Helper Object) extension for the Internet Explorer browser. It is installed with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher, in “C:\Program files\Microsoft Office\OfficeVV\grooveex.dll”, for traditional MSI installations, or “C:\Program files\Microsoft OfficeVVV\root\OfficeVVV”, with Click-to-Run (The “VV” is the Microsoft version indicator for Office : “14” for Office 2010, “15” for 2013 and “16” for 2016). It allows a user of SharePoint Workspace or its Microsoft replacement OneDrive for Business (ODFB) product to open remotely synchronized shared libraries in the browser window and select the Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Visio files to open by these Office applications. It works with the old Groove.exe synchronization client installed by SharePoint or ODFB. If the new OneDrive.exe synchronization client is used, Grooveex.dll is not used. Note that the presence of grooveex.dll causes file name management problems for Adobe CreativeCloud products such as Premiere. Microsoft Corporation is headquartered in Redmond, Washington, USA.
Is Grooveex.dll safe?
Although the actual grooveex.dll file is not a security threat, your first task is to determine if the file is secure. There are many malicious imitators who are able to disguise themselves as DLLs and other types of files to prevent them from being detected by security scanners.

Can I stop or delete grooveex.dll?
Many processes that are not running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. grooveex.dll is used by’Microsoft Office 2010′. It is an application created by Microsoft Corporation.
If you no longer use Microsoft Office 2010, you can permanently remove this software and grooveex.dll from your PC. Press Windows + R simultaneously and enter ‘appwiz.cpl’. Then search for Microsoft Office 2010 in the list of installed programs and uninstall this application.
How do I know if grooveex.dll (grooveex.dll) has been uninstalled properly?
